Still Going On In A Modified Version
The Dream Ride Experience is the signature fundraising event of The Hometown Foundation, Inc.’s Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities pillar. In 2001, Dream Ride began simply as an optimistic vision and a passionate hope for the future of those in our community living with intellectual disabilities. Armed with a vivid dream, Michael Bozzuto created The Hometown Foundation, Inc. and established it as the central support system for his goals. Dream Ride came into fruition – its ultimate motive being to shed light on the countless abilities of the intellectually disabled community. Beginning with a humble total of twelve motorcycles revving their engines, a dream took shape, and The Dream Ride Experience began its movement. Nineteen years later, thanks to the passion, hope, and dedication of his entire company and the community, The Dream Ride Experience has evolved into the largest philanthropic endeavor sponsored by Bozzuto’s Inc. and The Hometown Foundation, Inc. Dream Ride has evolved into a year-long community commitment to celebrate the achievements of our Special Olympics athletes and individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities from over 25 different states and five countries.
Over the course of the years, thousands have joined the movement and helped make an impact on so many lives. The Dream Ride Experience is proud to say that since its inception, over $12 million has been donated to support The Hometown Foundation, Inc. and Special Olympics Connecticut. The weekend features family fun for all and a celebration of our Dream Riders, the true heart and soul of the event. It also includes the Dream Cruise, a Saturday police-escorted journey where drivers pair up with Dream Riders in their classic/exotic vehicles for a 12 mile cruise, Dream Show featuring cars and motorcycles, culminating in the Dream Ride, a Sunday motorcycle tour through the Farmington, Connecticut countryside, all benefiting a worthy cause.
Thousands of supporters venture to Farmington, Connecticut, all with one common goal of choosing to include. Participants have journeyed from across the United States and internationally to be a part of the event. It is with their passion that The Dream Ride Experience is a lasting and growing event. The Dream Ride Experience advocates for inclusion and building friendships amongst not only the Dream Riders, but also with the participants and attendees.

This was my first time at dream ride and it’s an amazing experience. It’s so inspirational to meet other athletes like myself all over the world and looking forward to next year . The whole experience was so rewarding to me and a dream come true. The dream cruise and red carpet was a blast seeing all ages young and old standing cheering us athletes on and how we inspire them. It made me appreciate my life more.
