Dream Ride Day at The Portland Sea Dogs

About The Event:

Beginning in 2014, Dream Ride Day at Headlock Field the home stadium of the Portland Sea Dogs Minor League Baseball Team, has brought together over 500 athletes from Special Olympics Maine and New Hampshire to enjoy a day at the ball park. The Hometown Foundation, Inc. alongside all Maine IGA Retailers have supported this event that allows Special Olympics’ athletes to partake in an activity that welcomes them to feel accepted in an inclusive environment. Their day at the ball park begins with a car show, tour of Hadlock Field, a parade around the stadium, as well as a singing of the National Anthem and throwing of the first pitch. The athletes join our sponsors for a barbecue lunch in which they meet the Portland Sea Dogs’ mascot, Slugger, and receive a special piece of Portland Sea Dogs memorabilia.
