$15,000 Hometown Heroes Police K-9 Grant Giveaway!

Help the Police K-9 Heroes in Your Town!

January 6, 2022 – The Hometown Foundation, Inc. has officially launched its 2022 Hometown Heroes $15,000 Grant Giveaway. The Hometown Foundation works year-round to support five pillars of charitable focus centered around Animal Welfare, Emergency Response Personnel, Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or In Need, Major Illness, and the Military. The Police K-9 Program under The Foundation’s Emergency Response Personnel Pillar aims to assist deserving law enforcement agencies and their K-9 Units who embody the principles of honor, respect, pride, and compassion, while simultaneously making a difference within their communities.

Police K-9 Units are not fully funded by their local and state municipalities and rely heavily on private donations. For this reason, The Hometown Foundation is granting three (3) well-deserving K-9 Units each with $5,000 worth of K-9 training equipment of their choice, equaling a total of $15,000 in equipment donations across the three departments. Any law enforcement agency with a working K-9 Unit is encouraged to apply, including but not limited to: Police Departments, Sheriff’s Offices, and Department of Corrections. K-9 Units who have exemplified true commitment to their town by protecting and serving are encouraged to share their story of how they are assisting their community. All K-9 Units are able apply until January 28, 2022 at 11:59PM. Public voting will begin on February 1, 2022 at 12:01AM until February 28, 2022 11:59PM.

The Hometown Foundation, Inc.’s Police K-9 Program donates fully equipped, single and dual purpose K-9s along with accompanying training equipment to law enforcement agencies across the country. Since this program’s inception in 2017, The Hometown Foundation has donated 29 K-9s to law enforcement agencies in 13 different states. The Foundation focuses on fundraising year-round to support this program and recognizes February as Police K-9 Awareness month. Although it is a year-round initiative, the majority of our fundraising efforts during the month of February, are directly focused on the K-9 Program.

If you are a working K-9 Unit, please apply at www.hometownfoundation.org. To view the complete set of rules visit k9.hometownfoundation.org.
