The Market at Pound Ridge Square Cares for the K-9s!

July 22, 2021 – July 22, 2021 – The Hometown Foundation is proud to announce the donation of $2,500 to our Police K-9 Program thanks to our generous partner, The Market at Pound Ridge Square located in Pound Ridge, New York. Each year, The Hometown Foundation, Inc. raises funds for our local and state Police K-9s through our Police K-9 Awareness Retailer Program. This program allows grocery stores and retailers the opportunity to integrate a fundraising asset into their stores that allows shoppers and consumers to donate at check-out to make a contribution towards the cause.

The funds raised will benefit The Hometown Foundation and the Lewisboro Police Department K-9 Unit, which consists of Sgt. Llewellyn and K-9 Zane. The K-9 Unit has been patrolling the road for 4 years and have been inseparable since then. The funds will be used to purchase equipment to help during their nighttime tracking and training.

The Hometown Foundation would like to thank all of the customers, associates and supporters of The Market at Pound Ridge Square who donated to the cause. Police K-9s are the most valuable supplement to manpower in a police department. They are used for finding missing persons, detecting narcotics and accelerants, apprehending suspects, finding crime scene evidence, handler protection, and used as a community policing tool. Despite the essential role that Police K-9s offer law enforcement agencies, in many states and municipalities these programs are not funded by their local governments, which means they rely heavily on private donations. Your contribution directly helps fund their program within their departments.

You can get involved by donating to The Hometown Foundation, Inc. at or texting PoliceK9 to 41444. For more information on how to support your local Police K-9 Units, please contact The Hometown Foundation at or 203-250-5661.
