November 13, 2020 – The Hometown Foundation, Inc. is working to provide complete, nutritious meals to our neighbors in need this holiday season. The third annual Hometown Foundation HungerLESS Holidays initiative is one of the largest turkey drives in the Northeast, donating over 18,000 turkeys to families and individuals in need. Our entire HungerLESS Holidays initiative and fundraising campaign has raised over $250,000 for food insecurity and meal support organizations, and will feed over 145,000 individuals in need this year.
The Hometown Foundation’s HungerLESS Holidays is a retailer based fundraising initiative, in conjunction with a holiday turkey drive. In 2018, The Hometown Foundation distributed over 5,000 turkeys and over 2,000 pounds of produce to communities throughout New York and Connecticut. In 2019, over 15,000 turkeys were donated and distributed across Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
In year three of this quickly growing initiative, we are collaborating with our corporate donors and retail partners with a goal of distributing over 18,000 turkeys to those in need across the Northeast. We are expanding our areas of impact this year alongside New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts to also include New Hampshire, New Jersey and Maine. Our initiative would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, including Bozzuto’s Inc., @Sparky18888, The Garden of Eden Foundation, IGA, Joey Logano Foundation, Hershey, PCNY, People’s Bank, Pagani, Morgan Stanley, Marcum LLP, Allstate Fire Equipment and our independent grocery retailers. Our sponsors are truly a key component to the success of this initiative.
To raise much needed funds to support dozens of meal support organizations throughout the Northeast, The Hometown Foundation is collaborating with over 45 independently owned grocery stores who are actively fundraising throughout November to December to support our HungerLESS Holidays campaign. Funds raised at each location will benefit The Hometown Foundation and a meal support organization in the retailer’s own community.
The goal of this turkey drive and fundraising campaign is to allow The Hometown Foundation to continue our mission and assist those suffering from food insecurity. This holiday season we are assisting our neighbors in need and bringing the community together in a time where we need it the most. We hope you will consider shopping local or making a donation to donate a turkey and make a difference!
